The demand for rented properties that allow pets has seen a surge in recent years.
Finding pet-friendly flats to rent can be difficult though.
Many landlords are still reluctant to allow animals or include hidden charges that can heavily penalise pet owners.
London has no shortage of thriving rental communities and stylish neighbourhoods, but it can be tricky to find a new home for you and your furry friend.
We’ve collated a list of eight rental brands in London that offer pet-friendly apartments – including ourselves!
How to Find a Pet-Friendly Landlord
Thanks to the rising demand for pet-friendly apartments, many new online tools have been created to make it easier to find a pet-friendly landlord.
If none of the recommended London rental properties in the article below appeal to you, we’d suggest using one of these tools:
Movebubble
The residential property portal, Movebubble, specialises in rental properties in the London area.
Download the easy-to-use app and turn on the ‘pet friendly’ filter to instantly find a home where you and your furry friend are welcome to live.
The app has a number of other handy features, such as a ‘bills included’ filter and video tours of properties.
Zoopla
As one of the UK’s leading real estate companies, Zoopla is a good website to use to help find a rental property that allows pets.
You’ll need to fill out some initial criteria on the ‘to rent’ form and hit ‘search’ first. Once you’re on the search results page, select ‘filters’ and tick ‘pets allowed’ under the ‘letting type’ category.
Update the results to narrow down your search as a pet owner.
OpenRent
You can search for direct lets by landlords via OpenRent, cutting out the agent middleman.
Choose the corner of London you’re looking to rent in and use the advanced filter ‘accept pets’ to home in on pet-friendly rentals.
The platform features a map of properties, which is particularly useful if you’re not sure which side of London you want to move to.
PrimeLocation
The UK property portal, PrimeLocation, doesn’t have a pet-friendly filter but you can use the advanced search options as a way around.
In the keywords section, type ‘pet’ to help locate listings that include the term. Be sure to double check that the properties that display in the search definitely allow pets before you book a viewing.

Essential Living
As the first build-to-rent landlord in the UK to offer pet-friendly apartments, Essential Living is the ideal choice if you’re looking to rent in London with a pet.
We understand that renting should be pet-friendly, which is why your pets are welcome in 100% of our properties.
Choose to live in our stylish apartments in Islington, Greenwich or Bethnal Green and rest assured you’ll encounter no hidden charges or terms as a pet owner.
We make renting with us easy when you have a pet. Our dedicated 24-hour on-site residents’ team and tight-knit community vibe means you’ll always find someone to help.
We organise group dog walks, letting you get to know your neighbours and other pooches.
We can also find you the best local pet sitters, dog walkers and groomers, taking the strain out of your lifestyle.
Sailmakers
Located in the Canary Wharf area, Sailmakers’ serviced apartments are available for both short- and long-term renting.
You’ll benefit from a choice of pet-friendly apartments, a dedicated all-hours team and pet sitting services – a bonus if you get tied up with an appointment.
Pet owners should beware of the Sailmakers’ pet policy though. Pets are allowed in the rental properties on a case-by-case basis; this is something you will need to confirm in writing before you rent with them.
As a pet owner, you will also face an additional monthly fee added to your rent.
Get Living
Providing a vibrant community for renters and their pets, Get Living offers pet friendly apartments in London.
If you wish to rent with your pet in East or South London, you’re in luck. Get Living has two London developments, one in the Elephant and Castle area, the other in Stratford.
As a pet owner, you can rejoice in no surprise fees or deposits for choosing to live with a pet in these properties.
Unlike certain other rental property brands that can arrange dog walking and pet sitting, Get Living doesn’t offer additional services to suit pet owners though.
Folio London
Folio London makes renting easy. All of the properties come fully furnished, letting you move in and feel at home straight away.
The private rental brand has properties across London, from Stratford to Canada Water. Each development offers varying different public spaces and services though, so it’s important to do your research.
If you’re looking for a home with your furry friend, many of Folio London’s rented properties allow pets.
However, it is advisable to enquire about the brand’s pet policy during your apartment search to avoid any nasty surprises.
Not all of the rental apartments are 100% pet-friendly. And pet owners may incur additional fees for living with a pet.
UNCLE
With properties across South and West London, UNCLE aims to deliver a more straight-forward approach to renting.
As well as featuring communal spaces in their apartments – such as gyms, sky lounges and yoga studios – UNCLE offers a number of pet-friendly apartments.
As a pet owner, if you are looking to move to the Wembley, Elephant and Castle or New Cross areas, you’re in luck.
Apartments can be rented both furnished and unfurnished, to suit your needs and those of your pet’s.
However, of their five developments in London, only these three include rented properties that allow pets. Otherwise, UNCLE has a strict no-animals-allowed policy in their buildings.
Grainger
With flexible and long-term tenancies available, Grainger can be a good choice if you’re looking for rented properties that allow pets in London.
As the UK’s largest listed residential landlord, you can take advantage of a personal and friendly level of service. Grainger has a breadth of developments across London (and outside of the capital), a few of which welcome pet owners.
If you’re considering renting an apartment with Grainger, it is best to clarify their pet-friendly policy.
Certain developments allow your pets to cohabitate with you, whilst others have a stringent no-pet policy. You may also incur an additional fee with your tenancy agreement as a pet owner.
Vertus
With brand new apartments in the vibrant Canary Wharf area, Vertus is an appealing choice if you wish to be at the centre of this up-and-coming part of the capital.
The residential leasing company offers flexible tenancies and no hidden fees, letting you feel at home in a rental property.
Of their three Canary Wharf developments, only one is pet-friendly however.
Pet owners can enjoy the abundance of social spaces and a monthly events programme at 8 Water Street. It's a great way to get to know your neighbours and other four-legged friends.
Otherwise, Vertus’ properties do not currently allow pets.
Quintain Living
When you live with Quintain Living (formerly Tipi), you can make the most of the social spaces, regular resident events and in-building gyms.
Alongside these perks, Quintain Living offers rented properties that allow pets.
All of the properties are based in Wembley Park, which may limit your search if you do not want to live in West London.
You and your pet will feel right at home as 100% of the properties are pet-friendly. Due to this, you’re sure to meet other furry friends in the communal spaces.
However, the pet-friendly apartments do come at a price; a monthly fee is added to your rent as a pet owner.
